Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor. Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!
We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations across the region.
New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month.
And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!
Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.
What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!
The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.
Refund Policy: 5 days notice required for a full refund. Re-scheduling requires 2 days notice. In the case of bad weather (heavy rain) the class may be cancelled and you'll be given the option of rescheduling or a refund.
If you need to reschedule or refund your booking, then please contact the office using this form. Your instructor is NOT able to refund or reschedule your booking for you.
Matt sets some very useful challenges and included technical explanations that meant we learnt more about our cameras, capturing the available light and achieving the images we were striving for. The setting and weather was great. Very enjoyable session. 5/5 by Glenn Cockerton 9-2-2020
This event was excellent. Matt had us experiment with white balance in a way that I will never forget. He also had us experiment with makeshift color and partial ND filters which was extraordinary and simple. I got a bit lost with the ‘movement’ after the train spotting mostly due to crowded city. Excellent event, highly recommended. 4/5 by Theresa Muller 16-12-2019

Amanda did a great job in difficult conditions, the weather was pretty average to say the least. Still good value though and learnt things to improve my photography. 4/5 by Andrew Johnson 22-9-2019

The tutors are practical and knowlegable. I appreciate that they're not theorists. They have the answers, no matter how many questions. Well, all the ones I ask. 4/5 by Cecil Triegaardt 21-7-2019

Fabulous day at Hanging Rock with Kate and Amanda. Following a late start we split in two groups ascending to the summit stopping at regular intervals for a tutorial and taking a few images. Being challenged to shoot in M and explore the exposure triangle by Amanda was very helpful pushing me out of my M or T settings. Great experience and promptly booked two more. 5/5 by Theresa Muller 20-5-2019
The event was very relaxed which made it welcoming as a first timer.
It's slightly difficult to keep on top of the challenges in the limited time but I can't think of an alternative to the way the event was run. It covers a broad range of concepts without being too overwhelming. 5/5 by David Reichert 5-5-2019

It was really good, very quick tho. 4/5 by Dian 7-4-2019
Pleasant day out with Kate. First time I have attended so did not know what to expect. Subject being architecture I was surprised that we only photographed one building, the Centre for Contemporary Art. Nevertheless it taught me to look at such a bleak building in a different light and to look up, look close. The red and black tower added some more interest. Happy with some of my shots. 4/5 by Sue Thompson 10-3-2019
